Father's Day Duel

Hello my Darlin Peeps...it is Dueling time again!! ♥
Each month,on the 15th to be exact, we Dueling Dazzlers 'battle' with the Dueling Divas to compare ideas, learn new tecniques and creating DAZZLING cards together.

This month our darling hostesses are April (for the Dazzlers) and Jamie (for the Divas)
April sent us an awesome masculine kit from which to create a Father's Day card .
I {{{ }}} everything from the kit, especially the burlap!

With my kit, I decided to make an easel card ..I actually started making a sideways easel first, but truly preferred the more 'regular' kind and stuck with it.
Incredibly, I made my card ten days ago...way ahead of time for once...lol...
woott meee...love it when I can receive kits a bit early! ;o)
♥ < Thanks April ! > ♥

April's kit contained the following items:
Krafty Dots by Recollections, Out of Print/Storyteller by Basic Grey and Go Fish/Mini Fish by Carolyn Holt Designs
Burlap and Pearls by Recollections
Ribbon and Bakers Twine from my stash
Clothespin from SU!
Stamps: Favorite Occasions by JustRite and Totally Tool set from SU!

As I was creating this card my mind went to all the happy times I spent with my amazing father....
my memories of him are in sharp contrast with the man he is today....unfortunatly Alzhaimer is NEVER kind to anyone afflicted by it or their families. I am mourning my father's brilliant mind...
but when I hug him and I still receive his warm hugs back (most of the times...) I thank God he is still in my life...
***I love you Dad, for ever and always...♥ ***

Hope you like this month's contribution   to our  friendly  monthly duel... ♥                                                  I'd love it if you could leave a sign  of  your sweet visit, I so appreciate reading all comments ...               *THANK  YOU*                           BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!!

I agree that the burlap was fun to use! You certainly rocked this challenge and your easel card is a fabulous way to highlight the kit!

Wow! What a great way to use these awesome papers and embellishments on an easel card! Love the texture the burlap brings to your focal image and easel panel. Your cards are always outstanding and this one is right at the top!! Beautiful work, Paola!! Wishing you loving days with your father.

Ooooohhhhh.....we had vey similar thoughts for the outside of our cards! Very nicely done! Your inside is much better than mine, well, because I didn't do an inside (it's just a card front....don't tell!!).

Love it WPS!!!

Paola, what a lovely, lovely card! I think the easel style is perfect and love how you've added the different elements on the base of the easel. Very nicely done! The addition of blue in your card is great, really perks things up! A fantastic card, in honor of a fantastic man!

Wonderful- love the burlap- and the great image- my hubby would love this! I love the strip that holds up the card- with the burlap and brads on blue. Awesome!

I love that you were able to use so much of the kit. It looks great as an easel card.

I am sorry for the things you are going through with your dad. It is so very hard. Hugs my friend!
