Inking with Friends....

These cards were created yesterday during a get together with friends and collegues sharing same inking passion...We made 12 cards each, 2 of each pattern - for an 'All Occasions' theme.
While I follow  Jacqui's (our 'teacher' for the day) original ideas, on my second take of same card
I usually tend to change it a bit ...not much...just  a tad to make it a wee bit different and owing my own designs...I especially like the distressed tecnique lately,which I applied to three of the cards you see below. Here's a gallery of all the 12 cards made....(oops actually there are 11 displayed here)
I wonder if  YOU can pick out the ones to which I applied my own final touch to them??
.... U already had  a starting hint...lol...:o)

I truly enjoyed my day w/my stamping friends...we always end up having  a great time together...
The food was AMAZING too!! ....and sooo much of it...what a colorful feast!
Unfortunaly I have no pictures as I forgot my camera at home...yup...
I actually did not host this stamping-gathering this time...can you believe it?? lOl...
Probably the reason why I enjoyed it so fully is that I had no hostess 'duties' nor any concern about anything else but my own inking and creating ;o)
OK my darlin peeps...I'm outta here...my better half is taking me to an afternoon matinee'...yeah!
Have a great Sunday ya all and thanks for visiting me here...
Your comments are ALWAYS appreciated :o)

January ~SOTC

Sisterhood Of The Travelling Cards monthly swap:

January is the month been hosted by Maryann (aka mastuff on SCS)
She challenged us sistahs to make cards showing how was the weather,where we live, on New Year Day.
 From her own words, it goes like this : "....When you wake up on January 1st, look outside. What is the weather like where you live? Is it raining, snowing, sunshine, windy? Make a card with your current weather in it. Example: raining, put an umbrella somewhere on the card; sunshine, maybe flowers growing; snowing, sledding, snowman; windy, make me think of fall leaves. Have fun with this and it will be interesting to see what type of weather, everyone had on the first day of the new year...."

 FUN theme eh?? :o)
Well, when I woke up on January first I noticed right away that it was a GORGEOUS day indeed!
We still had snow on the ground and the sun was shimmering and reflecting on it making everywhere I look appear so clean and pristine, sooo beautiful! When I looked out my upstairs windows I saw huge pine trees with some snow clinging still
on their heavily extended branches, and that is the image I wanted to create on my cards giving it also a 3-D effect inside my brand new beaded oval nesties which I LOVEEE! :o)

For these cards ,I stamped images using
a very old  Stamping Up set called
Sensational Scenery (1997) still inside its original pkg.cell. I love this set and will never part with it!

Card Deets:
Stamp: Sensational Scenery (SU)
Ink: Mellow Moss,Old Olive,Crushed Curry

                          (from My Mind Eyes)
Accessories: Spellbinders Label 8, Beaded Ovals,
Blue buttons from 'Forever in Time', thinner two toned ribbon from Michaels & organza ribbons from SU, Aleene's Glitter Snow, Stickles, Glue Dots,Light blue color chalk,hairspray,

I hope you like my interpretation of this fun

~*~SHAPELY~SNOW-DIVAS~*~

* click on any pictures to enlarge*

Hello everyone, my good friend Vivian (aka blusky on SCS) is a perennial hostess of  many swaps, and one of them, is her recent 'Shape cards swap' in which all partecipants are nudged to make a card in any shape format they like ,therefore I decided to create my very own original fun snow-person. Well, my first attempt at it didn't quite fully satisfy me. The bottom left side looked too flat as you can see here below on  your left. Then I tried a different approach and liked the result much better. Made my own templates and voila'....a 'snow-diva' was born! :o)

The red cute round nose was made from recycling
Christmas crackers' round ties as U can see below  here.
Oh yessss, I do love recycling!!

Here's a group smiling picture for  ya...in my opinion, they turned out rather cute :o)

Lastly....individual pictures....say 'cheeeeeseee'!! LOL
I hope that the recipient like my original take on shaped cards.
I call these my 'shapely snow~divas'...it fits well don't you agree ?
Come back and visit again...I may have more fun things to show ya soon..... :o)
Ciao for now, with many blessings sent your way~~~~*

Darling Dazzlers Celebrating a New Year!

      *Click on any of the pictures if you wish to enlarge *

 Yippeeeeeeeee!! Ya know what day it is,right?? It's the 15th of the month,the usual 'blog-get-together'
of the triple *D*'s (Dueling Darling Dazzlers/or Divas)
See here for details,if you are a new follower and have no idea what I am talking about...LOL *wink*
http://paola-sama.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-duelling-darlings-timeo.html

The darling hostesses for this first month of 2011 is my friend Judy (for the Divas) and myself  (for the Dazzlers). Judy and I put our head together and came up with what we were hoping to be a fun theme for all: 'Fun and Laughter for Rver After'.
 I was VERY excited to prepare my first kit evah, for these wonderful group of dazzling creative stampers, and hopefully every one of  them enjoyed what they received too!
This is what I ended up creating for this monthly friendly 'dual' ...do you like it? :o)
I must confess I am quite happy with the end result (even though I realized -too late- that I taped my hearts d/p upside down!!! oh well..I was NOT about to start all over...lol))

To the kit,in order to make the above card,I added the following:
*dimentionals*glue dots*fancy tag*crystal clear (for lacquering the image)*
I used Mellow Moss and Rose Romance to sponge the doiley and make it 'old' looking
Always Artichoke was my choice for the card stock used and the tecniques involved are the following:
*watercoloring*sponging*precision cuttin*piecing*
Next is a picture of the inside of the card,using more embellishments, but could not use them all afterall.

Here is a peek at the prepared kits that  the Dazzlers received
Ohh! I almost forgot to mention that the constant resolution I was never able to keep so far
is definetly exercising and dieting...*sigh*...

Four, Two, One...

~~~What do those numbers may have in common you may ask??
Or better yet what does 4, 2, 1 represent?? :o)
Well, let me tell ya...
4 = four sets of cards ; 2 = two different swaps ; 1 = one very nice hostess.
Taryn's her name and her alias is 'littleladybug3'  :o)
She's presently hosting 'Flowers for a Friend' , due in a few days, and 'Lovely as a Tree' swap, due next month.
Well, since I have been home sick for days now,and with LOTS of time on my hands still,between napping and taking it easy,I was able to work on lots of swaps ,producing dozens of cards, and still relax and nap between fits of coughs and blowing nose as there was no tomorrow....yukkkk......
the house and all the rest was looked after my concerned and caring hubby, including making me
hot ,steamy much needed chicken soup ....ohh yeahhh..........I think I unknowingly was on a liquid diet!!! lol     Anyways, without  any further delays here are my first two sets of cards :
'FLOWERS FOR A FRIEND'
***...LOTS of cards today on this post!! ...lol...please scroll all the way down and check all the trees cards too!! Let me know WHICH one of all these cards is YOUR favorite*** :o)
First set of flowery cards- don't they looks like springtime? I wanted to show a 3-D effect....
I used  SU! 'A Tree for all Seasons' set here
*each pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them*
I used  'Up  Daisies' set here
Second sets of flowery cards...these daisies are encased in , and shaped  by Spellbinders Nesties. A sentiment is added inside the card, flanked by a cute butterfly .The distressed tecnique was used around the pink c/s edges only,giving the card a more interesting finish.
And now, here are my second sets of cards for the swap due nest month :
'LOVELY AS A TREE'  is the title, just as the set I used to create the colorful images you see here:o)    I tried a new (to me) tecnique (mirrored image/reflexion) and really liked the way they turned out even though this is my very first attempt. In some of the cards I used less ink on purpose (stamp on,stamp off), wanting to leave a much lighter subtle effect on the mirrored image. You can say I was busy experimenting ...that would be a very good assumption :o)
I enjoyed this tecnique very much and also liked the end results with both subtle and vivid inking....
*What do YOU think?  Duable again? :o)
*Darker, vividly stamped image here*
*Used less ink here,displaying a medium reflected  image* Inside sentiment is also displayed here*
*This is amongst the softest of all the mirrored images I made, it has just a very subtle, gentle hint to it*
And, finally, one last card set to complete this upload...............
'TREES THREE' stamp set finally came out of its confinement! Such lovely set and hardly ever used.....*sigh*
These bare trees  images made me think of a simple winter scene,
just added a lot of diamond stickle to the branches for that soft
glittery, snowy look...I rather like how the cards turned out...simple,elegant and with distressed edges. Versatile enough to use for many different occasions.
Hope you like this latest 'tour-de-cards'...lol....
Thank you for stopping by today...I so appreciate YOUR visit...:o)
Candy Colored Hearts Challenge F4A46
*Click on any pictures if you wish to enlarge*
 Feeling quite bored being at home and sick *sigh*
Definetly NOT the week-end I had planned...
Between resting and sleeping (a lot!), drinking fluids (a lot!), doing some reading and crosswords puzzles...what else is there to do? STAMPING of course!!! *smile*
Sooooo, I decided to join in  a challenge on SCS...
Here are the details:
"Free 4 All Friday Challenge this week. The Challenge is “Candy Colored Hearts”
Create any kind of a project you like... but you project must have something purple, something pink and a heart."
 Free 4 All Friday Challenge this week on SCS (Splitcoast Stampers)
This card has two opening 'flaps'.
Made the heart enclosure using my new Spellbinders Hearts Nesties. An appropriate sentiment is hidden inside.
In the second opening I added 'Top Note' in ivory bazzil c/s over pink c/s w/stamped hearts images.
Of course I did NOT forget the Stickles!! lol
Here's a sideway closeup showing the card's dual openings. When I started creating this, I had no idea I was going to make it this way...but hey...once the cretive juices take over...ya never know where it takes ya! :o)
Card Deets :
  Stamps:Love,Always (SU 2001);   Always
('everything' sentiments)
Ink: Rich Razzleberries;
Card Stock: SU purple,pink and ivor
Designer Paper: K & Company 'Lovely'
Accessories: Top Note, Spellbinders Hearts Nesties, Stickles,  mini paper roses,purple satiny ribbons, purple gem, glue dots.
Card measures 5x5" square.
I really like these paper rosettes and will definetly need to get more of them. The purple satiny ribbons were added merely for the purpose to cover up the large scallopped heart's 'side wings'....they were showing way too much and I didn't quite like their exposure.
As you can see I didn't spare the Stickles here either...it adds a sparkly,glittery finish which I love  ;o)
What do YOU think??
Please leave me a sign of your
visit....LOL
~* Blessings to you*~
