Birthday cards 'his and hers' style

*Click on any images if you wish to enlarge*

Hello dahling followers:o)
the cards that you see today were made for Karly's Male and Female Birthday cards' swap
...check it out on the link provided here below if you wish...
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/cards-f107/%2A%2A%2Aclosed%2Adue-7-days%2A%2A%2A-happy-happy-birthday-3-1-due-1-11-11-a-t507342.html

I decided to use the 'Medallion' stamp from Stampin Up and emboss it with 'Classic Copper' powder to create a nice elegant look directly on light pink bazzil card stock.
I absolutly love the versatility of this beautiful stamp.
Paired it up with one of 'True Friend' stamp set -a smaller medallion shape- which I punched out using the 5 petals SU punch and 'antiqued' its edges with Close to Cocoa ink.

Some ivory lace over glittered designer paper, previously punched-scalloped ,and some glittery gems just about sums it up:o)
In the close up  below, you can notice better the sponged Cool Caribbean ink dabbed right inside the copper embossed image for a softer look.
I liked the result, hopefully Karly will too...:o)

Female Birthday card deets:
Stamps: SU-Medallion; True Friend; Vogue Verse (INside sentiment); Short and Sweet (Outside sentiment)
Ink: Versamark, Close to Cocoa, Col Caribbean
Others: Classic Copper Embossing Power
Card Stock:  SU-Close to Cocoa;Pinx Bazzil,
Designer Paper:  My Mind Eyes-'Just for the Girl   glittered d/p
Accessories: C/B border 'Frills', jewels,
various punches from SU & MS
Tecnique: wet embossing,dry embossing,sponging

Next, is my submission for male birthday cards.
I chose a solid image of an old truck from Tim Holtz Clear StampsCollection since I also needed to make a birthday card for an older friends of ours. Hubby will go and visit him tonight, while I stay at home still not feeling well, nursing a terrible head cold, stuffiness, sore throat etc...bleahhh! I {dislike} feeling like this very, very much!!:o(

I do like the way this masculine card turned out.
Quite a monochromatic look indeed. I managed to sort of match the three argyle elements I incorporated too, so I am quite happy about that :o) I truly do think that the embossed craft colored background, the d/p and the ribbon marry well together- don't you agree? *wink*
On the inside, the cards bear a cheerful 'Have a Great Day!' sentiment.

Masculine Card Deets:
Stamps: Inkadinkado - 'Just Sayin' clear stamps(outside sentiment); SU-Vogue Verses
(INside sentiment) , Tim Holtz 'The Journey' clear stamps
Ink: SU-Chocolate Chips, Soft Sky
Card Stock: medium blue, craft, d/p -unknown
Accessories: E/F  'Argyle'(thank YOU Carol!),
Label eight nesties, light blue buttons.twine, argyle ribbon, dimentionals
Tecnique: dry embossing, sponging, layering

Hang on!! LOL ...I have one more card to show ya,ehehehe....
I made this one with the leftovers from the feminine card...basically stamped full Medallion instead of half, added the smaller version medallion from True Friend's set, used Cranberry Crisp around the embossed image, after cutting it around the edges, distressed the designer blue paper and added a beautiful wide satiny ribbon and some sparkles...    Voila'....another 'look' was born! :o)
Thanks for visiting!!! Would love to know what ya think, comments are ALWAYS appreciated!

The medallion stamp is great! I really like how it looks embossed.

The background embossing on the male card works perfectly with your layout.

Great job!
