Dueling Darlings Duel : Who's The Man?

Hello friends and peeps...
this is my second post of the day. My first card was made for the Twisted Tuesday Challenge and can be seen here:
http://paola-sama.blogspot.ca/2012/04/garden-without-roses.html
Interesting that both cards made today have similar colors! :o)

This featured card was created for the Dueling Darlings .
I am a tad late but it is still the 15th of the month here ,so I am happy to be able and post it before midnight...lol ;o) The hostesses this month are Terry (for us Dazzlers) and LJ for the Divas. This month we were encouraged by Terry aka my darling WingPitSistah (our own special joke...lol) to use the fabulous kit she sent us Dazzlers in creating a card for the special man in our life. I LOVE black and white cards , therefore this kit was right up my alley -so to speak- .... Terry also told us to feel free to add some color, therefore I decided to use just a wee pop of real red and leave the rest of the card in black and white. I like the result obtained in using a sample strip of all the fabby designer papers she sent us and make it the focused layered background.

I absolutly love this image...I have this set myself and used it for the first time about a year ago for the SOTC group, and gave my Dad this card for Father's Day last year :

This (second) card I made from this set will also go to my Dad...
He was the one who introduced me to the love of fishing from a very young age...
Taught me how to hook worms and to clean and gut fish after caught...most of all taught me to appreciate nature even more...

My Dad has no way of remembering the first 'On the Fly' card I gave him ....but that's
another story... wishing things could be the way they used to be *sigh*...
I know Dad will enjoy receiving this one for his Birthday at the end of the month...
I just have to seize each and every moment and continue to make everlasting memories for the both of us... ♥ * I love you Dad* ♥

Thank you Terry for a wonderful theme!!
♥ Blesssings to All!! ♥

Terry's Kit included the following items:
Images: “On the Fly” – Stampin Up! (stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black)
Ribbon: black and white grosgrain – Celebrate It (Michaels)
Mini Brads: black and white – Recollections
Metal Rings: either rectangle or d-ring – Paper Studio
Metal Dots: silver – Colorbok
DP - Black and White Paper Pad - Recollections

I added the following : white, grey c/s, real red marker, real red punched out circle,
'bliss' sentiment, dimentionals.

The little circles on the bottom of the card (so clever)...you get two thumbs up for sure...Sweet memories from fishing with your dad...a wise and loving father for sure...(my dad did the same with me only I didn't learn to gut and clean fish...we made our brothers do that...lol)....thanks for the awesome card and sweet memories...♥♥♥

What a cool card. Love just the touch of red on the images and the red circle with the sentiment. The circles across the bottom are a wonderful touch.

Love the red on this black & white theme, it really sings! What a great effect to cut strips of the two DPs for the background - brilliant idea! Also loved hearing of your memories with your father and learning to fish, we have that in common! I'll have to email you a funny story from my childhood about learning to fish!
Hugs, xoxo
